The role The Principal Application Specialist provides business knowledge and analysis skills to bridge the gap between strategy and development by assisting in the planning, design, development, and implementation of enhancements to the suite of solutions that collect and store data for the Mental Health and Addiction Portal (MHAP). The Principal Application Specialist is the key interface between the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch (the Branch) and both internal and external stakeholders and the vendor delivering technical support. The Principal Application Specialist's role is to articulate the business and strategic needs of the Branch and work with the Business Analyst to translate user requirements into outputs and ongoing maintenance and development of the reporting solution. The successful personYou will have: - Demonstrated ability to develop and promote ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident / problem / change / release management. (SFIA: USUP Level 4, PBMG Level 5, CHMG Level 5, RELM Level 5)
- Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others, and work collaboratively with people including senior business and technical stakeholders to make decisions. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
- Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor a team of technical specialists. (NHS: Leading change through people)
