Our Brisbane Corporate and Commercial team comprises of 35 people across a number of speciality areas including but not limited to corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracting, payments, technology and state & federal tax.

The opportunity

Due to continued growth, we now have an opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our highly regarded Brisbane corporate and capital markets practice, in a team led by Brent van Staden. Our national ECM group is consistently rated among the best in Australia. This is a varied role which will have you covering; Equity Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, ASX Listing Rules, Corporate Governance and Advisory, Resources, commercial contracts and corporate disputes. You’ll get direct client access to clients across all industries, with a focus on mineral exploration and mining, tech and biotech.

Ideally, you’ll bring

  • 3+ years PAE;
  • a working knowledge of the ASX Listing Rules and Corporations Act;
  • a track record of advising on matters for corporate and commercial clients;
  • experience and an interest in working with clients in the resources sector;
  • strategic and critical thinking capability;
  • strong written and verbal skills, particularly with writing advices;
  • motivated, can-do approach. Ability to think outside the box and provide value-adding solutions to clients;
  • among senior candidates, appetite to mentor our junior cohort;
  • lawyers with good working knowledge of contract law and good drafting skills; and
  • lawyers with a track record of advising on and delivering transactions for clients.
