The Role

Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the Automation Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in driving growth within the Australian region. The Automation Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities within the mining industry, while also maintaining relationships with existing key customer accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a growth strategy aligned with revenue targets.
  • Conduct industry research to map the market and gather competitor intelligence.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the assigned portfolio.
  • Create a sales strategy and unique messaging to engage potential customers.
  • Conduct customer meetings to understand current and future requirements.
  • Develop and maintain key account plans to meet revenue targets.
  • Conduct customer site visits and support market launches of new products.
  • Maintain CRM data, including communication records, key contacts, and future opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal technical specialists to identify customer requirements and develop solutions.

Skills and Experience

  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation Technology.
  • Proven sales experience in the Mining industry or Process Automation with a track record of initiating and growing accounts and relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sales plans, encompassing both new business development and key account management.
  • Experience in the industrial automation or related industry, with a focus on electrical/pneumatic products or automation and drive technology.
