Gladstone Central, Queensland, Australia Cement Australia Full time

To maintain the plant Process Control Systems (PCS) and High Level Control (HLC) Systems to achieve optimum plant availability and output. To provide process and automation support to other functional units, including subject matter expert advice and support to plant electrical performance.

About the role:

  • Take part in SHE training, attending communication sessions and tool box talks, ensuring JPT's are correctly completed and safety observations are undertaken frequently. Partake in HAZOPs, risk assessments and incident investigations as required. Frequently visit job sites and commend good SHE performance and as required mentor/coach individuals or teams to improve any poor SHE performance
  • Administer and maintain process control systems to ensure the systems are operating at their optimum levels and effectively communicate to stakeholders
  • Provide SME engineering and lead on High Level Control systems
  • Maintain disaster recovery systems
  • Develop and implement plant control systems to improve plant reliability and cost effective operations
  • Administer all appropriate PCS registers, such as licenses, quality documentation and relevant procedures
  • Prioritise, monitor and review process control system change requests to achieve business outcomes and improve plant reliability
  • Managing the life cycle of plant control systems
  • Support maintenance, production and process teams with technical knowledge & advice to ensure that Automation and electrical equipment is maintained to an appropriate level so that budgeted plant performance KPI's are achieved
  • Support the site RCA processes ensuring RCA tools are followed and effective implementing improvement actions.
  • Support maintenance planning systems where appropriate
  • Participate in the shutdowns planning and execution phases to ensure that maintenance activities and planning KPIs are met. Assist with management of shutdowns
  • Review and development of work instructions and PMR's.
  • Support cost management so that action can be taken to avoid cost blow out.
  • Throughout the year identify future maintenance requirements and prepare costing's for inclusion into finplan and annual budgets. Be familiar with annual maintenance budget in magnitude and timing of spend.
  • Actively support the culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and automation concepts.

About you:

  • Skilled in High level control systems
  • Skilled in PLC (Programmable Logic Control Systems)
  • Reliability maintenance
  • Root cause analysis
  • Leadership skills
  • Project Management
  • Report Writing
  • 5+ years' experience within heavy industry (Desirable)
  • Electrical Engineering Degree
