The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug services.  We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Case Worker who will provide effective service delivery, ensuring case management, assessment and referral, education and support are provided in accordance with TSA guidelines (within a comprehensive participant-led, recovery-based framework).

You will successfully

  • Provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
  • To develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures. 
  • Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by the Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Case Worker.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.

You will have

  • Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).
  • Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
  • At least two years’ experience in recovery, if applicable.
  • Sound computer literacy.
  • Ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
  • Ability to develop and tailor programs to meet participants’ needs.
  • QLD Blue Card
  • Current Drivers licence
  • Current First aid and CPR certificate

This is a permanent, full-time position located in Townsville, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 4 Award
