With your can-do attitude, you will be responsible for the direct care of our residents ensuring they are able to "Live Life to the Full" in our home-like environment. The positions will be offered as Full time Permanent role, based in Epping NSW, 2121. The candidate will be responsible for Residential Age Care Facility portfolio which includes Sydney Metro, Mid Coast, North regions as well as Western. Lastly, the ideal candidate will be required to support RNs in the field.

This position will provide high-quality, clinical governance standards within home care and provide guidance and support, so services have robust clinical governance processes and the following below:

  • The successful individual will monitor and report on the compliance with SCC policies and procedures, relevant standards and legislation and accepted industry practice to identify system improvement opportunities, potential skill gaps and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Lead the coordination of investigations and complaints including sourcing relevant medical (electronic) notes, obtaining statements, summarising key events and drafting a response for review within set timeframes.
  • Coordinate timely investigations of clinical incidents and develop action plans to deliver best practice in collaboration with Regional Managers and Head of RACs and RLU.
  • Provide support for clinical information systems and clinical projects

Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Current Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (TAE40110) or willing to complete same
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
  • Minimum of three (3) years post registration / enrolment clinical experience
  • Evaluating workplace practices against accreditation standards, quality systems, and organisation policies and procedures
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and continuous improvement of quality systems
  • Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Relevant State and Commonwealth legislation
  • Principles of continuous quality improvement, clinical governance and person-centred care
  • Aged care clinical assessment and management tools
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to liaise at all levels within the facility/service and work as part of a team
  • Effective report writing skills
  • Well-developed analytical, reflective and systems thinking and problem solving skills
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Computer literacy (including MS Office, Power Point, Excel and industry-specific software application

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualification in adult education, aged care, palliative care or mental health
