Summary/objective

The Clinical Specialist plays a critical role in promoting the safe and effective use of our client's devices. The APAC clinical team is responsible for producing and delivering product training on our client's product portfolio for the direct and distributor teams. The training produced is in collaboration with clinical affairs and corporate training and includes both didactic and hands on training. The clinical team adopts a continuous learning approach to training to ensure retention of knowledge and reinforcing what has been previously learnt.

It is the intention of the clinical team to introduce reinforcement activities to ensure that the direct and distributor sales teams maintain and retain higher levels of clinical knowledge relating to the our client's portfolio producing a highly motivated effective sales force.

  • Developing and maintaining expert-level knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas and products in collaboration with clinicians during case observation, Clinical affairs and corporate training.
  • Educate clinicians and allied health professionals on the benefits and correct clinical usage of our client's Medical Portfolio. This will encompass the delivery of presentations and product demonstrations on a one to one basis or to the whole multidisciplinary team to ensure good patients outcomes.
  • Provide case support across their region, this may or may not be part of a clinical evaluation and will include device prep, usage of device, ancillary products required and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Particular attention will be given to new product launches /workshops to ensure that the clinician is familiar with devices.
  • Promote and undertake our client's Resident and Medical Students education program (ARMS) across the regions. Centers to be targeted will be determined through discussion with regional managers, clinical specialists, sales, and distributors.
  • The clinical specialist will work in collaboration with major academic institutions to provide didactic and hands-on training, personalised to meet the needs of the individual institution.
  • Facilitate a network of workshop centers across the regions for key strategic products. Identify high volume centers that are experienced in usage. Clinicians love to train other clinicians and keen to relate their positive experiences. Workshops facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration, provide a platform to discuss and learn in an open environment. Nothing promotes the adoption of a product as quickly as peer-to-peer endorsement.
  • Provide Continuing Education seminars, webinars, for clinicians and support staff. The specific area to be covered will be dependent on the requirements of and the profession involved and will be agreed in association with regional managers. In some instances, it will be appropriate for experienced clinicians to speak on our client's behalf, others will be provided by the clinical specialist alone.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with hospital personnel at all levels including clinicians, advanced practioners and administrative staff will help to identify key decision makers and have the potential to open the door to other departments in the hospital to promote future sales.
  • Respond to customer needs and complaints regarding products or service and work with the relevant departments (e.g. complaints, customer services , sales, clinical research, marketing, R&D) to provide satisfactory replies.
  • Support regional sales and business development managers in developing and implementing agreed sales strategy.
  • It is the teams responsibility to communicate product updates, clinical papers and updates on clinical best practice with the sales force in their regions as and when they become available.

Required education and experience

  • Demonstrated ability for content creation of written and recorded education materials
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and plan proactively and have the ability to foresee potential problems and offer solutions.
  • Must have excellent leadership competencies.
  • Must be excellent with technology, able to present using a laptop and able demonstrate proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome.

Preferred Education and experience

  • Trained health care practitioner
  • Experience with clinical support and product training.
  • 3-5 years of experience from a similar role.
