Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria. We’re looking for Supervisors - Planned Works to start mid May, based out of our Clayton depot.

About the Role

Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.

How you'll contribute:

Reporting to the Planned Works Lead, Planned Works Supervisors lead internal crews and external delivery partners (subcontractors) to complete minor and capital works projects, as set by the Planning & Optimisation team.

Specifically, Planned Works Supervisors are accountable for: 

Completing works in line with standards and specifications for roads and bridge works, while minimising impacts on road users and communities, and maximising resource utilisation Leading daily pre-start and shift-close meetings and carrying out day-to-day activity and performance management of crews and delivery partners, with a strong focus on safety, the environment, quality and efficiency  Contributing to continuous improvement in Planned Works Delivery processes Performing quality assurance of completed works in accordance with the VRMC Quality Management Plan  Reporting daily on progress against program to the Planned Works Project Engineer In a typical week, you’ll spend around 75% of your time in the field supporting and coaching your team to deliver works safely to specification, program and cost

About you:

You’ll have at least three years' experience supervising works delivery by internal crews and external delivery partners in a road maintenance or civil works environment.

A hands-on leader who enjoys being out in the field, you’ll demonstrate: 

A proven ability to deliver works to specification, program and cost while maintaining effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders An inclusive approach to managing and developing your team, underpinned by an ability to make best-for-Contract decisions within your span of control Detailed knowledge of civil construction and/or road network management practices, including access, permit and licensing requirements for road maintenance operations  Sound digital and data management skills, including familiarity with field applications for works management  A relentless safety focus and proactive lead-indicator approach to minimising quality, safety and environmental risks and incidents

Formal qualifications (Cert IV or higher) in a technical discipline are a bonus, but not essential if you can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and capability
