About the role
This is a Permanent full-time opportunity located at Stanwell Power Station.
Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Superintendent, we are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide power systems and general electrical engineering support. Scope will cover the existing power station site as well as opportunities to participate in future energy project development and installations underway now.
This role focuses on implementing engineering and maintenance strategies, providing input to medium term asset life plans, providing technical advice, trouble shooting and the execution of operational level engineering projects. Plant of interest include HV & LV switchgear/reticulation systems, transformers, motors, generators, and protection systems. New equipment in the development and installation pipelines include battery energy storage systems, solar PV systems and hydrogen electrolyses.
Key activities include:
Provide technical leadership through the development of plant maintenance strategies in accordance with Asset Life Plans, relevant standards, and statutory requirements. Investigate plant performance issues/plant faults and identify suitable solutions. Implement equipment replacement strategies to optimise life cycle costs. Creation and maintenance of risk assessment management plans. Work with Corporate and other Site personnel to deliver effective and consistent high quality electrical outcomes for the site and future projects.About you
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a degree level qualification in Engineering (Electrical) and ideally RPEQ status (or eligible for and working towards registration). Other preferred skills and experience include:
Project management or owners engineering experience. Fault finding of process plant using proven investigation techniques. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships, and influence, negotiate and persuade stakeholders. A high level of analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to implement maintenance management principles and plant strategy development. Experience in a modern thermal power station or a process industry would be highly regarded.Benefits:
