Job Description
Overview of the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Business Analyst to join our technology department. This role will focus on utilising the FINEOS claims management platform and the Claims eco-system to enhance our insurance business processes and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical and business teams, ensuring that system enhancements align with business needs and contribute to delivery success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to the FINEOS claims management platform.
- Conduct requirements workshops, interviews, and surveys to understand user needs and translate them into functional specifications.
2. System Analysis:
- Analyse current business processes and workflows within the FINEOS platform to identify areas for improvement.
- Evaluate the impact of changes and enhancements on the overall system architecture and operational processes.
3. Solution Design:
- Work with technical teams to design solutions that meet business requirements and improve user experience.
- Create design documents and process flow diagrams to communicate technical solutions effectively.
4. Testing and Validation:
- Develop and execute test cases to validate system functionality against business requirements.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of enhancements.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams, business units, and management to ensure alignment and understanding of project requirements.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and other delivery, infrastructure and operations teams to enable efficient delivery and rapid resolution of production incidents that require L3 support.
6. Training and Support:
- Develop user training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users on new features and functionalities within the FINEOS and the eco-system when required
- Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for system-related issues and user inquiries.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies, especially related to claims management in the insurance sector.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and system enhancements to drive efficiency and improve service delivery.
8. Technical Resilience
- Support the Development Manager and the Pod to invest in systems health and resiliency. Articulate the reasons for this in business language.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- At least five (5) years experience as a Technical Analyst or comparable role, delivering high quality products and continuous improvements to customers
- Strong technical background, ideally, including experience with .NET, SQL Server, AWS/Azure Cloud technologies
- Practical experience implementing continuous improvement practices in delivery teams, including automated build and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of business processes, software development life cycle (SDLC), and project management methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in creating process documentation, use cases, and system design specifications.
Desirable Qualification and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications; Financial Services/Insurance/Life Insurance industry background; Insurance experience; Technology delivery experience; CI/CD &DevOps experience; Azure DevOps experience.
Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques is a plus.
