We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Torrens University Australia. This permanent part-time role offers 30.8 hours of work per week, which is equivalent to four days. The successful candidate will be based in Surry Hills and have full-time ongoing working rights.

Job Overview

This role reports directly to the Senior Financial Accountant (SFA) and plays a crucial part in supporting the financial reporting process. As a key member of our team, you will contribute significantly to meeting our commitment to bring more automation solutions and drive process improvements. This will enable us to achieve efficiencies, develop staff capabilities, and ensure a healthy work-life balance for all employees.

Our team is based at our bustling Surry Hills Campus, where we work flexibly under a hybrid mode with the team on-site two to three days a week.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Preparation of timely and accurate journal entries and reconciliations;
  • Assistance with preparation of supplementary monthly and quarterly close deliverables;
  • Assistance with periodic internal and external audit requirements;
  • Assistance with external financial reporting requirements, including financial statements;
  • Assistance with ad-hoc financial requests as required;
  • Identification and implementation of improvements relating to the close process.

We are looking for an immediate start for this position, and the ideal candidate will have previous experience in an accounting role, ideally with three to four years of experience. A CA, CPA, or ACA designation is also a must.
