Calling communications and engagement professionals With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for a talented, curious, and committed Senior Consultant, Communications and Engagement to join our growing ANZ Engagement and Social Planning Section. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team, is great at translating complex technical information, and confident engaging with stakeholders and the community.

Our ANZ Engagement and Social Planning Section designs, delivers and evaluates strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and community engagement approaches for major infrastructure projects across a range of sectors including Energy, Defence, Health, Transport and Water.

We help our clients solve their most complex challenges in ways which consider stakeholder and community impacts, and seeks to deliver positive environmental outcomes. We collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across a range of markets including water, defence, energy, power and transport. You will:

  • Prepare simple stakeholder and community engagement plans.
  • Prepare communications for a range of channels, this may include community updates and notifications, briefing presentations, webpage copy and media releases.
  • Coordinate and help facilitate engagement activities, in-person and online.
  • Prepare outcome reports including an analysis of qualitative and quantitative outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a range of technical specialists and work in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and participate in continual improvement.
  • Develop your consultancy and project management skills, in line with Jacobs Global Career Framework.

Here's what you'll need

  • A tertiary qualification in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Social Science, Arts or related field. 
  • Communications and/or engagement experience, ideally with training in or an understanding of IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) principles.
  • Previous experience working on planning, development and/or infrastructure projects
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and high levels of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Strong organisational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • A ‘can do’ attitude with an interest in continuous learning and improvement.
  • 5+ years relevant experience.
