About the role
Leadership: This role will report to Kasey Richmond, Associate General Counsel, APAC. She is based in Brisbane and leads the APAC Legal team. Our tight knit APAC legal team consists of three lawyers, and you will have the benefit of being part of the global Insight legal team consisting of approximately 25 lawyers throughout Canada, North America, and Europe. The team is passionate about technology and strives to provide timely and commercially focused legal advice that helps the business achieve its goals. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology and wants to join a dynamic and global legal team.
As a Graduate Legal Counsel, you will assist more senior solicitors in the provision of accurate, effective, and commercial advice to the business, enabling it to comply with its legal and ethical obligations, and the achievement of its objectives. We will count on you to provide a range of oral and written legal services (under supervision). Along the way, you will get to:
- Review and draft contracts and other legal documents predominately in the technology, software, and services space (including Master Services Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements)
- Research, assess and prepare advice on legal and regulatory matters
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders
- Undertake research, analyse and summarise information and present it back in various forms

What we’re looking for
- A recent University Graduate with a Bachelor of Law, who is admitted or in the process of being admitted
- A genuine interest in technology, privacy or data law
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak an Asian language is highly regarded.
- A curious, life-long learner who is open to change, to trying new things and wants to develop
- Someone who values teamwork, takes initiative and is proactive with strong problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills
