The role

As an Adviser , you will:

Assist with risk-based supervision and surveillance (e.g. review and monitoring) across the digital asset sector. Analyse new products and services in the digital assets sector, and their providers, to understand the business model and any consumer or market integrity risks. Draft clear, accurate analysis and advice on simple matters and with supervision on more complex matters. Collaborate and support (as required) on thematic reviews of harms or problems across the sector and work in collaboration with ASIC stakeholder teams to develop appropriate solutions to regulatory issues. Assist with identifying new ways to utilise data to deliver priorities, including effective collection, management, analysis, and communication of insights from data. Assist with the implementation of policy and regulatory law reform activities, including developing of new guidance, training, systems and processes. Maintain knowledge of ASIC's regulatory framework and toolkit, relevant legislative and reporting requirements, domestic and international developments, and best industry practice models. Liaise and engage with internal and external stakeholders on regulatory issues and encourage improvements of industry practice. Contribute to and write reports, presentations and briefings for senior management and external stakeholders.

About you

A relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Finance, Economics, Commerce or Technology. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in at least one of the following areas: the operation (and business models) of digital asset products and services. the technology underlying digital asset products and services. applying and advising on corporations and financial services legislation and policy. Some experience gained in a commercial, professional services or government environment. Understanding of ASIC's regulatory environment. Strategic thinking, analytical, investigative and research skills, including data analysis and presentation. Some exposure to and understanding of analysing quantitative and qualitative data. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders. Ability to work dynamically and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Experience managing relationships with industry and other stakeholders.
