**Collections Assistant Digital Assets**

Be a part of ensuring the longevity and access to our treasured collections across our unique historical sites. As our Collections Assistant Digital Assets you will be part of a passionate and dynamic team to ensure the efficient creation and quality management of digital assets.

**What the opportunity is**:

- Employment with Museums of History NSW.
- Assistant Registrar Grade 1. Remuneration package includes salary ($67,006 - $82,184), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
- Full-time temporary employment for a period up to 30 June 2024.
- The role will work across Sydney.

**What we do**
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

**What you’ll do with us**
This role will contribute to the delivery of the Collection digitisation workplan, including Collection photography shoots and the addition of digitised content to Museums of History NSW’s Digital Asset Management system [DAMS] for managing, discovering, describing and delivering digital image assets.

**What you need to do to apply**
- A one to two page cover letter outlining how your skills and experiences meet the essential requirements for this role,
- A current resume listing two referees, and

**What you need to tell us**:

- This role is involved in the photography of Collection material. Describe a situation where you were faced with a challenging Collection item during a photo-shoot, why was the item challenging to photograph? how did you approach the challenge? what was the result?

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Relevant experience in a museum environment, with a degree qualification in a related field.
- Demonstrated high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work across and ability to travel to multiple work locations.

**Also note**:

- A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
