About the Role:

As a Crew Leader - Roads, you're pivotal in leading a team focused on operational maintenance of the council's infrastructure, ensuring Arana Hills' roads and drains meet safety and quality standards.

  • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a 2-month assignment with the potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and collaborate with a team for high-quality maintenance of Civil Infrastructure Assets
  • Allocate resources and materials effectively for maintenance tasks
  • Identify infrastructure defects and provide efficient solutions
  • Develop, review plans, and maintenance schedules while maintaining accurate records
  • Ensure all plant and equipment comply with safety policies and operational requirements
  • Engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders to achieve service delivery excellence

About You:

  • Proven ability in leading and working effectively within a team, with strong leadership experience in amenity horticultural activities and civil infrastructure maintenance
  • Solid communication, computer, numeracy skills, and adept at interpreting plans and maps
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in civil engineering construction practices, especially in roads and drains
  • Holds a Certificate III in Civil Construction or related field, considered highly desirable for career progression
  • Current MR class driver's licence and Construction Induction Card with the willingness to obtain high-risk work dogging (DG) and Traffic Management Implementation licences within 6 months of start
  • Committed to safety, demonstrating a sound understanding of safe working practices and the physical fitness required for manual tasks
