ING Australia are on the hunt for an experienced Senior Manager, Planning & Strategy, to join our Retail team here in Sydney

As Senior Manager, Planning & Strategy, you’ll play a critical role working across the breadth of the Retail Bank teams and leadership to set, track, monitor and optimise business performance. You’ll play a pivotal role in the annual business planning and strategy process, during a period of significant growth for our organisation.

Specialising in forecasting and modelling, business performance monitoring and reporting and analysis, you’ll provide a consolidated view of business performance across the Retail Bank, to drive effective management decision making.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the annual planning and budget setting activity for Retail, with proactive communication of timelines and engagement of stakeholders
  • Drive the monthly reforecasting process across the broader Retail team including balance sheet, revenue and expense forecasts for all business units
  • Lead prioritisation and strategic alignment activities as input to the quarterly investment prioritisation process
  • Oversee and analyse expense trends to identify opportunities for improvement (transformative and incremental) while advising leaders and Retail management on business trends, metric development, driver modelling and analysis and provide ad hoc and strategic decision support
  • Lead strategy development activities including preparation and facilitation of off-sites and workshops, opportunity assessment, business case development and delivery planning to drive business performance
  • Deliver timely and accurate data to regular bank reporting (CEO performance reports, global strategy inputs) while building and enhancing reporting across business to support fast and effective management decisions and adapt to changing business needs

What We're Looking For

  • Deep understanding of Retail banking products, cost and revenue drivers and financial performance levers
  • Degree qualified in business or finance discipline with 8+ Years’ Experience in Financial Services ideally within a Retail Banking environment - consulting experience would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to provide critical review and challenge to business cases and product proposals and a passion for strategy development and driving corporate direction
  • Strong analytical and research skills- specifically in analysing market and competitor trends
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised with a natural project planning and management capability and  the ability to manage conflicting priorities across a number of stakeholder groups
