The Opportunity: 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Consultant to join our Planning team based Sydney CBD, NSW.

Using your technical expertise and proven skills, you will actively support our clients by demonstrating a sound understanding of statutory and strategic urban planning to provide relevant advice and insights.

You will be: 

  • Providing a high range of services including advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, master plans, the approval process and management;
  • Developing client relationships by building trust, providing quality advice and managing expectations;
  • Writing submissions, proposals and advice that accurately reflects the client's needs;
  • Managing small to medium size projects, including scoping and costing of projects, tracking job costs and coordinating consultants and sub-consultants, when necessary;
  • Identifying and raising issues which may impact fee estimates and/or timelines;
  • Coaching and developing individuals with the team, as appropriate;
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance and the Planning team's Business Plan;

About You: 

  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in Urban Planning
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Town Planning or related discipline 
  • Some experience in statutory or strategic planning desirable, ideally gained in a consultancy or local government environment.
  • Able to prioritise the competing demands of multiple projects within the agreed timeframe.  
  • Strong capability in written and verbal communications and engagement with a variety of stakeholders. 
  • An appreciation and understanding of impacts and issues affecting land use and development.
