About the role   

 

As a Site Accountant you will play a critical role in the financial management and decision–making processes within our retail manufacturing business, Fresh MilkCo. You will support the production of the financials for the retail sites, particularly focused on accounting for inventory values.  Please note this role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.

 

You’ll also:

  • Partner with the site Operations team to support forecasting and planning of direct spend activity. Analyse cost versus weekly budget and provide appropriate insight and performance commentary
  • Work with the Operations team on new product developments and providing comprehensive costings for pricing decisions
  • Analyse manufacturing costs and variances to identify trends, risks and opportunities for cost optimisation
  • Perform Commercial support activity including Transport Monitoring, Labour Management, Overheads management and Weekly / monthly reporting
  • Provide accurate cost data to support pricing decision for new products and existing product lines
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to analyse pricing strategies and ensure profitability

 

About you and your skills 

 

This role has a heavy manufacturing focus specifically in the dairy industry, therefore we are looking for a subject matter expert than can bring their knowledge of dairy cost accounting and drive success at our recently acquired milk facilities. You will therefore have extensive experience in cost accounting in FMCG manufacturing, ideally in milk.  

 

You will also have: 

  • A CA or CPA qualification, or equivalent, with extensive post qualification experience 
  • Understanding of retail manufacturing operations and the ability to translate operational data into financial analysis
  • Previous experience in cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis and cost allocation
  • Finance System skills to support production and understanding of result consolidation e.g. SAP Finance
  • Advanced Excel/analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to hold stakeholders and the business to account for delivering performance objectives
