What does the job look like?

Linfox is partnered with Australia’s leading Resources and Industrial companies, providing specialised logistics services across the country. Our Western Australian business continues to invest in its people and equipment, enabling it to provide innovative and comprehensive long distance supply chain solutions throughout the region. We are seeking a Regional Operations Manager to lead our Newman and surrounding operational teams who proudly deliver on the Linfox vision of operational excellence for its customers.

Reporting to the State Transport Manager, you will be well positioned to assume responsibility for safety, operational, financial and customer service performance throughout the region. You will work in partnership with leading global mining companies, providing safe and efficient long-distance logistics that allows them to take their products to the world. Role is available residential or FIFO ex Perth on 5/2, 4/3 roster. Key areas:

  • Promoting a safety-first culture ensuring commitment to safety, chain of responsibility and quality requirements 
  • Provide operational leadership ensuring service delivery is in line with contractual requirements and cost
  • Drive improvement and innovation across the network ensuring appropriate capacity is maintained
  • Effective management and development of direct reports, subcontractor partners and wider workforce across geographically diverse operations
  • Proactive management of customer relationships facilitating organic growth
  • Develop operating budgets and direct teams to effectively analyse equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilization
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote continuous improvement

This is a pivotal role requiring a manager with operational experience within the transport industry. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience providing leadership and effective commercial and operational decision making within a complex supply chain environment. You can demonstrate: 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement with an ability to build strong relationships across all levels and effectively implement and manage supply contracts
  • Ability to confidently lead, drive outcomes and develop diverse high-performing teams
  • Understanding of financial drivers, cost control and operational budgeting
  • Process driven, analytical and methodical with a passion to drive continuous improvement
