Savanna is seeking a full time Welding Supervisor to coordinate all forms of welding procedures for our Saxon Maintenance Team based in our Toowoomba Saxon

The Welding Supervisor will successfully delegate works on site and ensure the project achieves the required scope, budget, timeline, and quality requirements by successfully coordinating, monitoring, and assessing the activities of work crews on site during the construction, installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and finalization phases.

To apply, you should have:

5 to 7 years' proven experience as a Welding Supervisor or similar role in a manufacturing or construction environment  Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials. Leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders. Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues. Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance and safety standards. Hold an IWS International Welding Specialist or Certificate 10 Supervisor Certificate Have a trade background in welding and fabrication or tertiary qualified in engineering Have a knowledge of project management principles and practices Current C (car) class driver’s license

What you'll be doing:

Be a leader for safety through your actions and the actions of your team. Identify new innovations to services and equipment offerings and develop technical proposals for customers. Lead all fabrication design and management of change activities as it relates to equipment. Ensuring compliance with legislative and internal Safety standards. Supervision of all internal welding activities on site.  Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and or Project Manager to plan and achieve agreed project completion schedule and crew results. Undertaking QA checks for all welding jobs (both in house and subcontractors). Comply with all ISO quality requirements within the operations team. Supervision of planned maintenance NDT shutdowns. Comply with all pressure vessel compliance requirements. Witness and approve (PQR) procedure qualification record and (WPS) welding procedures. Reviewing quality records for dimensional inspections of finish items. Overseeing the final welding inspections are taking place to the approved inspection test plan. (ITP)  Reviewing and approving the (MDR) manufacturing data records. Inspection of steel structures for compliance to project specifications. Undertaking verification and inspection of materials. Ensuring welding equipment is in suitable condition for welding activities and safety requirements. Ensuring weld preparations are in accordance with drawing/WPS. Preparing and updating welder qualification records, including conducting welder qualification tests when necessary. Inspect all welding related activities including weld preparations, preheat and inter pass temperatures, welding parameters are within WPS requirements, visual and dimensional inspection, and completion of inspection reports. Ensure equipment is maintained in a manner that ensures continuous safe and efficient operation. Manage the commissioning process and ensure equipment is delivered to the field ready for service.
