The opportunity

As a Business Analyst, your purpose is to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, driving the successful delivery of IT projects and initiatives.
Your role is essential in understanding and analysing business processes, requirements, and objectives, translating them into actionable specifications for IT teams.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document business requirements for IT projects and initiatives.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops, interviews, and meetings to ensure a thorough understanding of business processes, needs and objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional specifications, user stories, use cases, and other documentation for IT development teams.
  • Analyse and prioritise business requirements, considering factors such as feasibility, impact, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Conduct gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current state and desired future state, proposing solutions to address business challenges and opportunities.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions align with architectural guidelines, technical constraints, security and data privacy standards, and industry best practices.
  • Support the testing and validation of IT solutions, including assisting with test case development, test execution, and defect resolution.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams, facilitating communication, managing expectations, and resolving conflicts as needed. Escalating issues where required.

About you

  • Understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, and best practices (e.g., BABOK).
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.
  • Several years of experience in IT business analyst roles, with a proven track record of simultaneously working on activities for IT projects of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with requirements management tools and software. ServiceNow experience would be highly regarded.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically about business challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
