Mars Recruitment is seeking an immediately available, Senior Credit Risk Advisor to join an exciting Credit Risk Strategy team within a leading, Financial Services organisation. In this role, you will oversee and manage inherent credit risks within the business lending portfolio, provide data-driven insights, monitor key risk and return metrics, and support strategic and tactical credit risk initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update credit risk strategies for core business segments through portfolio analysis and insights.

  • Support credit strategy initiatives, including updates on credit policies, credit models/scorecards, and the Unregulated Lending Quality Assurance Program.

  • Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms to actively monitor the risk and return profile of the business lending portfolio.

  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc analysis or presentations for various risk committees.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders through collaboration, value-adding insights, and continuous improvements.

  • Ensure sound risk management principles and systems are in place, proactively identifying risks, and monitoring outcomes.

Key Requirements:

  • A degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or Finance.

  • A minimum of 5 years experience within Credit Risk Strategy.

  • Business management exposure, preferably within Financial Services.

  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Diverse experience working with senior stakeholders.

  • Good understanding of risk management principles and regulations within the Financial Services sector.

  • Expertise in handling large data sets in Excel and/or SQL databases.

  • Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end credit risk across the customer life cycle.

  • Innovative problem-solving skills for complex business issues.
