About Us

Join the Student Journey Service team and make a difference in student lives Our portfolio including the Future Student Team, Outreach Team, Student Enquiry and Student Transition teams are dedicated to inspiring, informing, recruiting, supporting and transitioning both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Murdoch University. We understand the diversity of student experiences and prioritise placing students at the heart of everything we do.

Our Student Success team provides personalised and group support, offering advice and initiatives designed to enhance student engagement with their studies and university life.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support our Student Success Specialists, providing essential administrative assistance for complex student cases, including specialised support for international students.

In this role you will play a key part in enhancing student transition, progression, retention and overall success for both domestic and international students. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving student outcomes and graduation rates. You will also focus on helping international students adapt to their new environment and thrive in their studies at Murdoch University.

On a day-to-day basis you will be:

  • Assisting in managing complex cases including providing advice to students on the best way forward, in light of legislation, relevant regulations and University policies and procedures.

  • Assess applications from students which may affect their enrolment; in areas such as reduced study loads and approved leave.

  • Liaise with the Student Success Specialist team to plan and deliver programs and events which enhance student success and overall student experience.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Completion of a degree with subsequent work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

  • Experience in managing and providing excellent customer service and recognising and meeting clients’ needs.

  • Possession of effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students from culturally diverse backgrounds.

  • Organisational, time, and workload management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines whilst maintaining a high-level attention of detail.
