Bengalla is an open cut mine located in Muswellbrook in the Hunter Valley, NSW. It offers a residential lifestyle and has development consent to operate through to 2039.

About the Role
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will be responsible for providing strategic management and ultimate ownership of your crew in all areas. Working closely with the Production Coordinator, your direct reports include the Open Cut Examiner and Production Supervisor.

In this role, you will also:

  • Drive the execution of the daily, weekly, and annual operating plans with a focus on plan compliance and efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement of the crew in all areas
  • Effectively manage incidents from investigation through to close out
  • Manage training and development of the crew.
  • Work closely with stakeholders outside of the Production team to maximise outputs.

What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Strong planning and organising skills
  • A current, maintained practicing certificate
  • Strong interpersonal skills supported by proven leadership and team membership skills
  • Ability to respectfully challenge the status quo and drive performance
  • Proven experience in safety leadership and incident reduction
  • Knowledge in Work Health and Safety legislation
  • High-level judgement, decision-making and problem-solving capability, as well as a professional level of written and oral communication skills
