Job Description

The Opportunity 

In this newly created role, you will be Reporting to the External Communications and Community Partnerships Manager and will provide administration and communications support across the Corporate Communications team.

A day in the life of this role could see you (but is not limited to):

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists to facilitate accurate and expansive coverage of the organisation.
  • Prepare press releases, media kits, and other communication materials.
  • Respond to media inquiries and represent the organisation at media events when required.
  • Assist in the drafting and editing of communications, including press releases, blog posts, and newsletters.
  • Create engaging multimedia content (videos, photos, infographics) for use across various platforms including social media, website, and traditional media.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to increase engagement and reach.
  • Monitor social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of community outreach and partnership initiatives.
  • Track media coverage and report on the effectiveness of media campaigns and public relations efforts.

Qualifications

About You

To be successful, you will possess:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a communications, public relations, or media relations role.
  • Proven track record of supporting in the development and implementation of successful public relations and communications strategies.
  • Aligned with RWWA’s organisational values of Respect, Accountability, Connection and Excellence outlined in RWWA’s Culture Playbook.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
