Domain Engineering Manager

Melbourne, Australia NBN Co Full time

Job Expectations

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as the Domain Engineering Manager reporting to Executive Manager DevSecOps Data Warehouse.

A bit about your role

As the Domain Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating development activities across our technology domain. Your responsibilities will involve close collaboration with the Domain Iteration Manager and POD DevSecOps Managers to ensure seamless coordination and high operational performance standards throughout the application lifecycle. You will serve as the primary technical interface for the technology domain, collaborating with the architecture and solution teams to define and prioritise the backlog of work.

In this role, you will engage in every phase of the application lifecycle—from development and testing to deployment and operations—applying industry-leading methods, tools, and practices to ensure applications evolve quickly and reliably. Your expertise will be crucial in designing engineering processes, reviewing designs, and crafting a world-class data environment as we embark on an exciting growth period. Additionally, you will manage vendor relationships and establish commercial arrangements through Statements of Work to explore alternative delivery channels when needed.

You will also be a key player in supporting and upskilling team members, enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of our program delivery.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in IT technical roles, particularly in the delivery and operations of software systems, and experience in a leadership role within an IT environment.

You are comfortable working in agile teams and familiar with Scrum or other agile methodologies. Your technical expertise will include experience with AWS services and technologies including RedShift, CI/CD Frameworks, Data Modelling techniques, Data Warehouse architecture and design and good database querying and management skills (SQL Scripting). A keen eye for ensuring good source control standards, application design, and software validation. Moreover, a good understanding of the Telco industry and the technology landscape will be valuable.

Above all, you are someone who excels at communication, collaboration, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within your team.
