Primary Purpose of Role

 

The purpose of this role is to manage a portfolio of accounts ensuring high quality service for new

and existing portfolio of clients. As Account Manager, you are developing and maintaining clients,

maximising revenue through retaining and building on existing client relationships, and

by generating new business opportunities.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Maintaining strong relationships and trust with portfolio of clients, based on demonstrated ability to manage accounts both smoothly and professionally
  • Ensuring client needs are identified and met by taking a proactive approach to all aspects of account management and service delivery to clients, and ensuring clients are actively involved with the organisation’s subject matter experts, insurance products, services and solutions
  • Design, implement and manage an agreed service plan with each client, and look to continually develop and improve the service delivered to the client
  • Implementing renewal and broking strategies
  • Keep informed of industry trends by attending internal and/or external meetings on topical issues
  • Proactively manage and resolve client issues including answering and responding to daily client enquiries
  • Gathering client information to support renewal documentation including the production of relevant reports in accordance with company standards
  • Maintaining an awareness of all large and potentially complicated claim related matters and participate actively with claims personnel in the negotiation of equitable claims settlements on behalf of clients
  • Generate initiatives toward maximising account profitability
  • Developing and maintaining meaningful working relationships with insurers and subject matter experts
  • Ensuring the completion of activities within determined parameters
  • Develop and train Account Executives, and act as a positive role model in the business
  • Review documentation produced by Account Executive to ensure compliance with standards
  • Ensuring compliance of systems and processes with the Financial Services Reform Act and relevant legislation
  • Demonstrate an understanding of company capabilities including insurance, financial services and premium funding, and promote these products when opportunities arise through contact with clients
  • Support people management strategies by actively supporting staff in the team so a to maximize their contribution to the organisation and its business objectives while maintaining their job satisfaction and personal development
  • Apply best business practice – ethically, professionally and with integrity in all circumstances so that the reputation and brand is never undermined
