About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse/CSSD Team Leader to join our CSSD team on a full time basis. In this fast paced and varied environment you will utilise your excellent clinical skills and customer service skills to maintain the highest operational standards of the sterilisation service.

About us

Our 181 bed private hospital is conveniently located at the top of the Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, in the heart of the CBD. The purpose of the role is:

  • To ensure compliance of the department with the sterilization guidelines and regulations set by AS 5396
  • To manage the maintenance of equipment and instruments with CSSD NUM’s approval and supervision
  • To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sterilization processes and making necessary improvements
  • To troubleshoot and address any issues or concerns related to sterilization machines or processes
  • To conduct audits and quality assurance checks with the Registered Nurse to ensure compliance and adherence to AS 5369
  • To participat4e in continuous education and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest sterilization techniques and regulations
  • To liaise with Clinical Nurses of Operating Theatres in maintaining the instruments
  • To work with the Registered Nurse in maintaining the updates and upgrades of the Censitrac System on daily basis

Essential Criteria:

·       Certificate III in Sterilisation or working towards

·       Certificate IV in Sterilisation (desired)

·       5 years’ experience working in a hospital CSSD essential

·       Sound knowledge of AS/NZ 4187 2014

·       Demonstrated knowledge of instrumentation

·       Experience with tracking systems

·       Endoscopy reprocessing experience or willingness to learn

·       Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

·       Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various data bases

·       An interest in promoting best practice patient care

·       A focus on professional development
