Key responsibilities:

The role's duties and accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly update and manage key Procurement Market Engagements, covering active, planned, and awarded contracts.
  • Develop Category Plans and secure endorsements from senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Lead quarterly Category Review meetings with key stakeholders, documenting discussions and action items.
  • Create and implement Go-to-Market Strategies for major market engagements, ensuring senior management approval.
  • Execute market engagements as outlined in category plans, meeting agreed timelines and objectives.
  • Track and document procurement value, including cost savings, cost avoidance, new revenue streams, and innovation in the Procurement Value Tracker.
  • Conduct Procurement Surveys post-engagement to gather feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Continuously contribute to refining and enhancing procurement policies, processes, and guidelines.
  • Lead the development of procurement processes, guidelines, and templates, ensuring they meet evolving needs.
  • Support the development and implementation of new procurement platforms to streamline operations.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Degree-qualified with significant experience in a category management, strategic sourcing or procurement role.
  • Experience across a diverse range of spend categories supporting multiple stakeholder groups in a complex operating environment
  • The ability to drive progress and lead sourcing processes to tight time frames 
  • Strong commercial, contractual and business knowledge
  • Great communication and negotiation skills
  • Someone who actively questions and challenges the status quo to drive ongoing process improvement and superior commercial outcomes
  • Experience in developing procurement strategies and supporting implementation plans in complex operating environments
