Client Details
The business has a long and proud history of manufacturing within Australia. An Australian favourite and a leader in their snacking category, they boast a highly automated, multi-line manufacturing site in Sydney’s Southwest producing a wide array of food products for both domestic and export markets. The business requires a Manufacturing Manager to take overall accountability for production performance and drive efficiencies.
Description
Reporting directly to the General Manager - Operations, you will have full responsibility for the site manufacturing operation, consisting of 8 Shift Managers and up to 350 operators. The site is extremely fast paced with operations spanning 24/7, and 20 manufacturing lines. You will be able to pivot, using your continuous improvement and safety mindset to streamline operations, while driving efficiencies and upskilling your leadership team. Specifically, you will cover:
Safety: Ensure safe working is paramount and adhered to, participating in site WHS committees and leading investigations into incidents. A key metric will be the reduction in both major and minor incidents.
Quality of Products: Working closely with the site quality team you will ensure all food safety and hygiene practices are achieved and improved in line with HACCP and SQF regulations. You will achieve right first-time production with 100% traceability on all products and 100% adherence to FSANZ export rules.
People Leadership: Through a visible, floor based approach, you will improve your leadership teams capabilities and performance; creating a harmonious shift management structure with clear standards and expectations. Through a measured and consistent approach, you will ensure absenteeism is reduced, team members are engaged and that grievances are dealt with swiftly and thoroughly.
Production: Taking full ownership of the site performance and metrics you will develop your team, leading continuous improvement and safety projects in a visible manner on the production floor. You will be expected to achieve 100% production to standard whilst leading waste and efficiency initiatives.
Profile
You are a dynamic Manufacturing Manager with exposure to fast paced, multi-line FMCG manufacturing with high levels of automation. You hold a depth of understanding with regards to Continuous Improvement, Safety and Food Quality Standards. You thrive in a fast paced and agile environment, evidenced by a wealth of achievements regarding manufacturing metrics and waste reduction initiatives having built an engaged management team previously. Ideally your practical experience of at least 7-10 years is complemented by a Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field with exposure to LEAN Manufacturing.
