The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Coordinator who will coordinate all operations of the Drive for Life Program for young people primarily aged 16-25. This includes recruiting and screening suitable clients, organise driving instructor lessons, following a structured program model, building the capacity of the program through volunteers, and establishing collaborative partnerships with community stakeholders to support young people achieve their drivers licence.
You will successfully
- Coordinate and implement the Drive for Life Program in partnership with community partners and key stakeholders. Including but not limited to; coordinating driving lessons with external instructors, train and coordinate volunteers, develop and implement a coordinated and individualized response to each young person participating in the program.
- Conduct initial assessment and provide a coordinated response to support young people develop healthy relationships, engage in education, training, employment pathways, enhance health and wellbeing, and improve social connection. Young people engaged with the Drive for Life programs often present with trauma histories an require specialist interventions.
- To ensure there is a strong commitment to working within a trauma and psychologically informed practice environment when prioritising all the support needs of young people.
- Establish referrals, allocate and review/monitor a caseload of at-risk young people towards completion of the program.
- Accurate data relating to programs is collected, analysed and used to review and evaluate service delivery outcomes.
You will have
- A strong team focus with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and build relationships with people of all backgrounds
- Tertiary education in Business Administration/Information Technology or significant demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills.
- Knowledge of community services and health sectors
- Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
- Experience interpreting data from records system, analysing results using statistical techniques to identify trends / patterns, supporting the program planning process.
- Experience monitoring performance and reviewing quality of collected data to identify improvements in the maintenance and capture of data.
- A current BLUE CARD
- A current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain one
- A current Drivers licence
This is a permanent, full-time position located in Toowoomba City, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 4 Award.
