A new opportunity has been created as the Head of IT Infrastructure & Services, reporting to the Chief Information Officer, Australia & NZ.

This role holds accountability for the strategy, the stability and performance of all aspects of IT Infrastructure, operations, and services, and is ultimately helping Zurich Australia towards becoming the leading digital insurer.  

This role also supports the business in creating and continuously improving the digital experience of our employees and our offices, including the adoption of emerging technologies to improve this.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing input into the Zurich Australia technology strategy and architecture vision as an infrastructure expert to assist in ensuring we optimise our journey to being a leading digital insurer.  
  • This includes developing the Infrastructure, Network, Cloud, and services strategy to deliver on business and technology objectives using the input from both the Australia business needs and the regional and global requirements.
  • You will be accountable for the execution of this strategy together with the Australian and the APAC teams and reporting on this to all stakeholders including local Executive team and Board
  • You will be accountable for ensuring the stability and services meet expectations of our customers, partners, and our business as well as the requirements of Zurich group. This includes Availability, Reliability, Capacity, Performance, Incident and Problem resolution, Disaster Recovery and security alignment and will work closely with other technology leaders in Zurich Australia as well as regionally
  • You will provide for and co-design the digital employee experience and support in rolling out new digital experiences to our employees as well as in our buildings
  • Responsible for the direct and indirect Infrastructure Budget for Zurich Australia as well as the strategic direction of the budget including input into cloud migration and modernisation roadmaps
  •  You will be a key member of the Zurich Australia technology leadership team and operating in a matrix reporting structure to the APAC regional technology leadership working closely with the regional infrastructure platform owners

Important to your success - let's grow together   

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
  • Multiple years of experience in managing hybrid Infrastructure for large corporate organisations. 
  • Strategic and on top of latest technology to bring thought leadership to help set strategy and guide solutions.
  • Proof points in transforming and modernising infrastructure and services  
  • Broad technical knowledge of all infrastructure technologies including Server, Storage, Cloud, Device, Voice, and Data Networking. 
  • Prove ability to establish and manage efficient, robust, and equitable working relationships with strategic partners and vendors. 
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with business stakeholders to comprehend and transform their requirements into efficient technology solutions. 
  • Experience in incorporating agile methodologies to streamline execution for enhanced efficiency and in working in organisations that operate in a scaled agile way of working.
  • Proven experience in leading large teams through change
  • Proven experience in leading workplace services including implementing new technologies and innovation.
  • Experience in financial management and cost control of multimillion dollar budgets. 
  • Understanding of technology risk management concepts including system Redundancy and Disaster Recovery solutions.
