About the role
We are currently searching for a Full Time or Part Time Occupational Health Nurse to join our team on a casual basis for 4-6 months. The role can be based remotely, or in any of Orica’s regional offices in the East Coast of Australia.
Reporting to the Regional SHES Lead – Occupational Hygiene & Health, you'll collaborate closely with various teams including manufacturing, supply chain, mining services, and human resources to provide technical guidance and implement best-in-class health solutions and support for our employees.
What you will be doing
Review medical assessments conducted by health service providers. Manage health-related incidents, injuries, and exposures, including classification, investigations, and corrective actions. Provide advice on mechanisms to identify, manage, and respond to health-related situations and proposed changes in standards. Coordinate regional fitness-for-work programs and associated procedures. Represent mining services in health communities of practice within the region. Support other Occupational Health Nurse resources within the region as needed.
What you will bring
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Health Nurse, ideally with a strong background in Occupational Hygiene. Recent experience as a Registered Nurse. Tertiary qualification in Science, Health, or a related field. Enthusiasm for proactive health initiatives in occupational settings. Deep understanding of health and medical requirements, including legislation pertaining to mining and health surveillance. Previous experience in audits, investigations, and risk assessments. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in report writing and presentations.
