About the role 

City of Parramatta is seeking skilled and driven individuals with expertise in asphalt labouring to become part of our dynamic team. As a member of the Asphalt team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing Parramatta’s Civil Infrastructure assets, contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal of our vibrant City 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation and repair of asphalt surfaces.
  • Use hand and power tools to prepare surfaces for asphalt, such as grading and compacting.
  • Operate equipment such as rollers, pavers, and skid steers.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks
  • Follow instructions and complete tasks within a set timeframe.

About You 

We are seeking skilled candidates with a strong background in asphalting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the industry and be familiar with the tools and equipment used and be able to follow instructions and complete tasks within set timeframes. 

To be considered for the role, candidates must possess the essential requirements outlined below, be actively pursuing, or demonstrate a willingness to obtain. 

Qualifications:

  • MR Truck licence is Essential.
  • WHS Industry Certificate (White Card)- Essential 
  • Asbestos awareness- or the ability and willingness to obtain the certificate
  • Powerline awareness- or the ability and willingness to obtain the certificate
  • Possession of current TCR and IMP traffic controller certificates or the ability and willingness to obtain the certificate prior to confirmation of employment

What’s on offer 

This is a permanent full-time opportunity: 

  • Monday to Friday
  • 6.30am-3.00pm
  • 38 hours per week
  • Monthly rostered day off

We are offering an attractive weekly salary from $1,183.15 to $1,302.86 plus 11% superannuation.
