About the opportunity 

As our Retail Postage Sorter, you’ll play an important part in keeping millions of Australians connected. As you’d expect, plenty of mail comes through our Post Offices and delivery facilities every day – and our mail sorting teams make sure every delivery gets where it needs to.  

Role Details:

Our relief team members will be allocated shifts at multiple Post Offices within a geographical location, a willingness to work at multiple locations with a variety of start and finish times across our operational hours of Monday - Saturday is a requirement of this position.

  • Relief locations include: Balaclava, Brighton, Brighton North, Caulfield South, Elsternwick, Port Melbourne, Port Melbourne Business Hub, South Melbourne and South Melbourne market Street Business Centre
  • 12 Months Fixed Term | Part Time 15 hours per week
  • Working Monday to Friday on a rotating roster between 6:30am - 6:00pm & 8:45am - 12:45pm on Saturdays
  • Extensive, supportive training is provided on commencement in the role
  • Adult Pay Rate $26.00 increases to $27.80 after 3 months + 12% Superannuation

You’ll be: 

  • Manually sorting all mail arriving at the workplace
  • Sorting and distributing mail into relevant PO Boxes 
  • Assisting and/or performing administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance

About you

You’re friendly, enthusiastic and reliable and you love the balance of working in a team environment and autonomously. You’re motivated by the opportunity to help make a difference to your community. You'll also need to:

  • Call upon your memory and hand-eye coordination while sorting  
  • Be fit to lift up to 16kgs of mail regularly and stand for your shift
