About the Role

Day to day tasks will vary, however you will be primarily responsible for the following tasks which include but is not limited to:

·      Preparing and cooking food to a high standard using a variety of culinary techniques;

·      Supervising and coordinate other junior kitchen staff when preparing, cooking, garnishing and plating food for service;

·      Maintaining health and safety standards at all times by ensuring that the restaurant adheres to various legal frameworks including taking responsibility for food safety kitchen security;

·      Liaising with customers when required to ensure that high standards of food service are maintained at all times;

·      Collecting and acting on customer feedback to improve the overall running of the restaurant;

·      Liaising with the Licensee and Venue Manager to ensure smooth service at all times;

·      Stock management including undertaking regular stock checks, placing order with suppliers’ deliveries and stock handling;

·      Meeting kitchen revenue targets agreed with the Licensee by monitoring profitability and revenue performance on a daily basis;

·      Meeting with the Licensee weekly to assess performance and set revenue and profit targets, thereby ensuring we’re meeting necessary gross profit margins on all products;

·      Recruiting, training and managing kitchen staff;

·      Holding weekly meetings with your team & discussing all relevant issues and maintaining staff motivation;

·      Maintaining staff discipline, monitoring punctuality, uniform & performance;

·      Sourcing the best prices from suppliers whilst ensuring the quality and integrity of our product range; and

·      Identifying opportunities and areas to improve and develop the services and facilities the venue has to offer.

Skills & Experience – Who we’re looking for:

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:

·      Minimum Diploma qualification in Hospitality or similar field OR at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of qualifications;

·      At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef role within a restaurant;

·      Must have eye for detail;

·      High standards of cleanliness & hygiene
