The Role
The Joint Proof and Experimental Unit (JPEU) is seeking an agile and enthusiastic Senior Operations Officer to join our team at P&EE Port Wakefield. This position involves collaboration with the Operations Manager and Range Trials Officers to enhance test capabilities, design test equipment, and interpret test standards.

About our Team
Joint Proof and Experimental Unit Test Technical Officers work within the Joint Proof and Experimental Headquarters in support of guided weapon and explosive ordnance (GWEO) test. They support the Operations, Engineering and Capability Teams covering a wide array of activities.
Each team directly supports GWEO test including test equipment and specification design, investigating explosives ordnance failure modes and creating test system delivery. The Teams play a crucial role in supporting all operational activities within the three Test Units.
Employment at Port Wakefield includes a Special Defence Locality Assistance allowance of $309.85 per fortnight.
Our Ideal Candidate
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills, who is committed to achieving organisational goals and objectives.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in operations and project management, technical design and delivery, covering a wide range of explosive test systems. This includes weapons, targets, and support systems. A knowledge of test design, explosive ordnance systems and measurement practices would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate can adapt their current skill sets to the explosive ordnance test domain. They take the initiative to achieve quality operational and test outcomes; focusing on supporting management of the operations and engineering system. They will be dynamic and keen to continuously improve systems and processes.
The successful candidate will be proficient in the use a wide range of tools to aid in carrying out their work such as Microsoft Office tools, modelling applications and other IT systems.
