About the Role

This twelve month fixed term contract is based from our Eastern Treatment Plant (ETP) in Bangholme. The Eastern Treatment Plant is one of Australia’s largest sewage treatment plants, treating half of Melbourne’s sewage and producing high quality Class A recycled water.

Reporting to the Manager ETP Process Improvement, this is a pivotal role within the ETP Process Improvement team. As the Area Lead Process & Plant Improvement you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers providing technical support to optimise plant and process performance, and initiating and driving improvements for the Eastern Treatment Plant.

This role provides a rewarding mix of technical and people leadership experience in a complex and dynamic operational environment.

About you:

  • Tertiary degree in chemical, process or mechanical engineering (alternative but equivalent qualifications may be considered for the role)
  • Strong technical skills in process engineering - knowledge and experience with  wastewater and recycled water production treatment processes desirable
  • Interested in developing people leadership skills
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Ability to lead change and influence a diverse range of stakeholders
  • High level communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Highest standards of professional ethics
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check, pre-employment medical and an AusCheck
