The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience, preferably with 5 years experience in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace industry.

As a Project Manager at HeliMods, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation of Project Plans for HeliMods projects including coordinating deliverables from HeliMods team members such that projects are delivered in accordance with HeliMods Project Objectives.

You will be required to work within our agile and growing organisation, providing project management across a range of important projects and supporting the prioritisation of activities across our portfolio.

The projects will include the design, manufacturing and integration for a range of aerospace product and mission system solutions for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft fleets.

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art products and mission system solutions globally.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of project planning activities and coordinate with Business Unit leaders to obtain inputs into Project Plans.
  • Prepare Project Plans (including management of HeliMods deliverables to Customers, resourcing, schedule, cost, KPIs, quality requirements, risk and opportunities) for HeliMods projects for approval by HeliMods Business Unit leaders.
  • Brief project teams on the objectives and requirements of Project Plans and implement the Project Plans.
  • Monitor the progress of activities against the approved Project Plans and provide weekly reporting of actual progress versus baseline to Business Unit leaders.
  • Prepare project Risk and Opportunity registers for HeliMods projects and provide weekly reporting to Business Unit leaders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project performance against the Project Plans and report accordingly.
  • Coordinate the execution of project activities and provide leadership to the project teams in this respect.
  • Develop and implement project reports for Business Unit leaders for communication of progress to HeliMods Customers.
  • Proactively identify, forecast and report resource, supply and production requirements across our project portfolio so that project productivity and efficiency levels can be maintained within HeliMods requirements. Identify priorities across the portfolio so that Business Unit leaders can plan and execute works accordingly.
  • In coordination with the Business Unit leaders identify project contingencies.
  • Coordinate regular meetings to brief Business Unit leaders and project staff on the status of Project Plans and Risk and Opportunity Registers. Record key actions from such meetings and distribute the minutes of meetings in a timely manner.
  • Proactively propose enhancements to HeliMods project control processes to enhance the delivery of projects (including management of HeliMods deliverables to Customers, resourcing, schedule, cost, KPIs, quality requirements, risks and opportunities).
  • Build rapport with HeliMods team, Customers and key stakeholders by working in a collaborative and respectful manner.
  • Support Business Unit leaders by preparing Project Plans for inclusion in HeliMods bids and tenders.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or mechatronic engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in managing large and complex projects and systems across their capability lifecycle, preferably with 5 years experience in advanced manufacturing within the aerospace industry.
  • Motivated team player with collaborative behaviours, excellent inter-personal skills and ability to establish sound working relationships with key stakeholders, customers and subcontractors.
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility to travel and work across international time zones as required.
