Procurement Senior Specialist – Strategic Sourcing

About the role

As the Procurement Senior Specialist – Strategic Sourcing, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Corporate Services Group.

You will deliver strategic sourcing outcomes through market analysis, commercial negotiations, effective risk management, technical competency, and collaborative stakeholder management. The role will focus predominately on V/Line’s operational services and contracts.

Key Accountabilities:

Collaborate with other business functions to analyse project scopes and develop fit for purpose specifications. Assist the Procurement Manager - Strategic Sourcing in overseeing high-value contracts. Contribute to the development of category strategies aligned with the overall business strategy. Identify cost-saving opportunities and value-add initiatives while mitigating supply chain risks.

About you

As a proactive and resourceful professional, you’re committed to continuous improvement.

You are already working at a high level in Procurement and have the expertise to perform well in a senior role. Ideally, this experience has been in operational service categories such as facilities, labour and commodities.

You understand the intricacies of contract negotiations and are skilled at using requests for tender and business-to-business processes to deliver commercial and value for money outcomes.

Candidates with previous VGBP (Victorian Government Purchasing Board) experience will be considered desirable, but not essential.

Effective communication skills are your forte, ensuring stakeholders remain consulted and engaged throughout the sourcing process.
