The Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SET) is a thriving centre of learning, teaching and research in a vast range of engineering and science schools and disciplines. The multidisciplinary hub develops future leaders, and actively partners with innovative industries to solve scientific problems of global significance. Many of its current academic staff are world leaders in their fields and graduates are highly regarded by employers.

The (CSEI) brings together education and STEM discipline experts to lead the development and delivery of critical courses. Strategically placed within the University’s Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, CSEI’s role is to create exciting education offerings for students by drawing on the wealth of expertise across the Faculty. Our undergraduate and postgraduate courses cover core engineering and technology subjects including Mechanics Technology, Systems and Complex Systems Engineering, Programming (Matlab, C and Excel), Business Management Studies, Research Methods, Communications and Critical Thinking.

We are seeking dedicated and passionate casual staff to assist with the delivery of our Semester 2 undergraduate and postgraduate course offering, commencing Monday 22 July 2024.

Please view the available courses through the application form, to determine what area of work offerings are being made available for individual courses.  Ensure you meet the essential criteria: Conferral of an undergraduate degree in a relevant fieldGood technical knowledge of the key teaching components of the courses you are applying forExcellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical information to studentsAvailable and flexible to meet the minimum hourly/sessional requirements for the courseAble to work collegially to support excellent teaching within the SchoolAre an Australian citizen or possess eligible Australian working visa*

Consider the desired criteria: Conferral of a postgraduate degree in a relevant fieldTeaching qualifications or formal trainingPrevious experience with casual work within the SchoolDemonstrated ability to educate or mentor studentsEvidence of good student feedback in student evaluationsEvidence of good feedback from course coordinators
