About the role
The role is responsible for ensuring that Business Operations adhere to established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. You will be tasked with overseeing the implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and control systems to minimise risks. The role supports and manages the remediation programmes of work that pertain to the department and ensure that exception reporting is completed within Service Level Agreements. You will monitor and coordinate for the operation, and the progress and performance of activities to ensure timely completion whilst keeping stakeholders informed of progress. The Operational Risk Manager will also support operations leaders and other SMEs to focus on delivery and management of BAU Risk and the change embedment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate remediation activities across various departments or teams to ensure timely completion.
  • Establish clear timelines and milestones for remediation projects, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Identify and address any obstacles or delays to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop remediation plans
  • Implement exception reporting processes to identify and address issues that could potentially result in customer detriment.
  • Analyse exception reports to identify trends or patterns indicative of underlying risks.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative & regulatory requirements including industry codes.
  • Maintaining strong engagement across all levels of the leadership team from frontline leader to the executive team.
  • Drive improved execution and risk management across business function

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience, preferably within Financial Services
  • Proven experience in risk management, remediation, or compliance roles, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and frameworks related to risk management and remediation
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to identify and address risks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Advanced reporting/analysis skills
