Located a short walk from Circular Quay train, bus and light rail interchange, among the cobblestone laneways of The Rocks district in a quirky heritage building, you will find the delightful Sydney Harbour Hotel. Offering 176 rooms and a relaxed restaurant and lobby bar, we are located centrally offering a quintessential Sydney experience.
We are looking for an effective Assistant Front Office Manager who can maintain a high level of exemplary and efficient service. This is a full-time position and works within a motivated and professional Hotel team.
The Role
Get ready to be at the heart of the action Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager, this exciting role places you front and centre in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will be the go-to person for ensuring smooth and efficient shifts within the Front Office team, always with a focus on outstanding guest service. In this pivotal role, you will partner with the Front Office Manager to lead, motivate and guide the team, offering valuable feedback and advice to keep everyone on track toward a common goal—Guest Satisfaction.
You will also play an integral part in managing the daily operations while sharpening your leadership skills and preparing to step up when the Front Office Manager needs a helping hand.
You will also be an ambassador for the hotel, effectively promoting our brand and communicating with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. This is a role for someone ready to thrive in a dynamic environment, help lead a top-notch team and make a real impact on our guest experience.
About you
We are looking for someone with some experience in a similar role—ideally in Hotels or Tourism—and a real passion for guest service. If you're a natural communicator with a knack for solving problems and keeping things organized, we want you on our team We thrive on collaboration and inclusivity, so a like-minded, team-oriented approach will be key to your success. You are flexible and ready to rock a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays. We' are looking for someone who is full of ideas and takes initiative to tackle challenges with ease. And if you are tech-savvy, even better Strong IT skills are a must, and if you have already worked with Opera PMS, that’s a big bonus.
Important Note: We are seeking applications from those who are eligible to work in Australia. Unfortunately, we cannot offer sponsorship at this time and if you are on a short-term visa, we will need a commitment of at least 12 months.
