About the opportunity
The Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement Team is an arm of the Acute Services at Mercy Mental Health. In keeping with the goals of the Victorian Suicide Prevention Framework 2016-25, Mercy Mental Health HOPE team aims to build resilience in individuals who have made a suicide attempt by providing them intensive outreach support and individualized therapeutic care post this event in their lives.
We have an exciting opportunity for either a Grade 3 Senior Clinical Psychologist or a Grade 2 Clinical Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary HOPE team. Our Clinical Psychologists work collaboratively with the HOPE team to actively engage clients in the assessment of their own suicide risk and actively contribute to their suicide prevention plan in order to minimize the risk of attempting suicide in the future. The HOPE team works in a manner that encourages and invites consumer participation and promotes self- determination. The role includes a component of outreach work, and as such occasional weekend and after hours work may be required.

Based at Werribee Mercy Hospital
Work in collaboration with other senior clinicians and support workers to provide assertive, tailored postvention support in the community.
Provide clients with targeted short term, evidence-based psychological interventions, which may include mindfulness, DBT, ACT or CBT.
About you
Registered with AHPRA as a Psychologist with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist
A Master’s degree or higher in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program
Relevant training and experience in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, suicide risk assessment and management, drug and alcohol and/or personality disorders
For Grade 2 Clinical Psychologist role: a minimum of 2 years work experience post full registration as a Psychologist
For Grade 3 Senior Clinical Psychologist role: a minimum of 5 years work experience post full registration; PBA approved Supervisor or eligible and willing to work towards same
