About the job

Join SA Water to deliver technical advisory services for the provision of water, wastewater and recycled connections, extensions and Minor Third party works within the metro area. Responsibilities include on site investigation, design, estimating, and delivery of services, ensuring compliance with standards and budgets, and delivering excellent customer service.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating effectively to ensure team goals are achieved by providing input into decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Engaging in negotiations to meet customer needs and promptly responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Being aware of and applying roles and responsibilities in accordance with WHS Roles and Responsibilities Procedure.
  • Providing timely and accurate investigation, design, estimating, and auditing services as required.
  • Ensuring network infrastructure is designed to comply with SA Water Design Standards.
  • Preparing construction estimates based on Schedule of Rates for water, wastewater, and recycled water connections, extensions, fire services, and third-party alterations.
  • Undertaking the "Safety in Design" process during in-house networks design.
  • Ensuring legitimacy and approval of Schedule of Rates and third-party invoices, including variations to minimise costs.
  • Through inspections, ensuring high-quality water, wastewater, and recycled water installations are constructed by schedule of rates and third-party contractors in a cost-effective manner and to SA Water standards.
  • Achieving onsite inspections KPI for substantial and practical completion.
  • Managing Schedule of Rates contractors in the Metro area to ensure compliance with the E & C contract and all E&C and third-party work delivery targets/KPIs are met.
  • Delivering services to internal customers within set KPIs.
  • Supporting and assisting the broader CTS team as required and upskilling/mentoring any team members undertaking their technical qualification and on-the-job training.
  • Identifying and participating in service and business improvement.
  • Gauging customer satisfaction with the service provided and reporting significant issues.
  • Undertaking appropriate compliance activities for water, wastewater, and recycled water connections, fire-services extensions, and third-party work.
  • Contributing to operational issues with internal groups.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Technical Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification or relevant on-the-job experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of SA Water network infrastructure with demonstrated skills in water and wastewater infrastructure delivery
  • Knowledge of materials, fittings, equipment, construction practices, and operational procedures associated with network infrastructure
  • Undertake field survey investigations as a basis for proposed designs and estimates or the assessment of preliminary inquiry requests
  • Ability to prepare AutoCAD and ArcGIS plans and drawings to show existing SA Water infrastructure, proposed extension requirements, and third-party alterations is desirable.
  • Ability to interpret infrastructure delivery contracts is desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Current driver’s license required.
