As the Environmental and Safety Manager, you will have the opportunity to implement the Company's health and safety program to ensure worker safety and adherence to government laws, regulations, and company or industry environmental, health and safety guidelines.

The role will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure daily compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations, including those set by other authorities, e.g. Worksafe Vic, EPA Vic and the NHVR.
  • Conduct EHS compliance audits as appropriate.
  • Follow up to ensure the floor team has corrected any workplace corrective actions.
  • Educate and oversee employees on health and safety procedures and regulations as required, usually as part of daily walk-throughs or spot-check safety audits.
  • Track the number of incidents and environmental information and update data for reporting needs.
  • Monitor key risks on a daily basis, e.g., Haz subs, Plant risk, Traffic management etc.
  • Investigate any accidents to determine the root cause, provide recommendations to eliminate future hazards or risks and ensure management follows through on recommendations.

  
Skill requirements:

  • A minimum of four years’ experience in a manufacturing/construction business, EHS role or similar is desirable.
  • As a seasoned EHS manager, you must have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards.
  • You will also be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs.
  • A deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to produce reports and develop relevant procedures
  • Senior knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • You will have a minimum qualification of a Diploma of OHS and Environmental Management.
  • Thorough knowledge and technical expertise in the RRTW process.
  • Auditing certification or experience in conducting internal audits would be highly regarded.
  • Construction Industry White card required.
  • This position may require travel
