Deputy Director, Operations

This pivotal position oversees the strategic delivery of facilities maintenance and operations services, including the management of buildings, grounds, and service desk operations, to support the University's goals.
The Deputy Director leads contracted partnerships that deliver various essential functions, such as security, traffic, parking, cleaning, waste, porterage, electrical, hydraulic, building fabric, lifts, fire and life safety, and mechanical plant functions.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves strategic priorities, contracted partnerships, and team management to meet operational excellence, financial targets, safety standards, and customer satisfaction.
You will champion continuous improvement strategies, ensuring high-quality service delivery and proactive client issue management. Additionally, you will oversee a resource budget of $25 million annually, ensuring compliance with financial plans and procedures, and procure and manage operations-related services to align with the University's client-focused approach.
Essential Criteria:
We seek a candidate with extensive leadership experience in the Australian University sector (or equivalent industry experience) with specialised knowledge of facilities management. Strong communication skills, the ability to lead, motivate, and resolve conflicts, and a proven ability to deliver high-level customer service and lead a client-focused team are essential.
