Melbourne, Australia Future Fund Management Agency Full time

About Future Fund

At the Future Fund, we’re for future minds – like yours. The new investors and creators who thrive on different thinking and doing it together. Those who glimpse opportunity before it strikes and step up every day to grab it.

The Future Fund is Australia's Sovereign Wealth Fund, managing over $270 billion across seven public asset funds with the same purpose: growing Australia’s future. We are a global investor and work closely with world leading investment organisations to access the best investment ideas.

Where others see challenges, we see more interesting investment experiences. Every person, every skillset, every mindset is an asset. We’ve got every future generation to consider, yet our approach to investing is incredibly pure: we think about it deeply, and daily. Ours is a culture where great people grow the future together, with the rare ability to work collaboratively, think freely, and make a real difference.

Are you Futureminded? Let’s create what’s next.

The Opportunity

The Change Management team within the Organisational Enablement (“OE”) function is responsible for partnering with the business to implement substantial changes successfully, by ensuring change impacts are understood and addressed, people are fully prepared to adopt specific changes and potential disruption to the organisation is minimised.

We are recruiting two Change Managers to join our team in Melbourne. The Change Managers will define and deliver tailored change management strategies and plans in support of substantial organisational changes. These changes will be driven by the business plan and emergent need, and may include process and operating model changes, system implementations, operational uplift initiatives and workforce or cultural changes.

Additionally, the Change Managers will serve as the “go to” resources for specific business units, providing change management advice and light touch support for BAU and smaller scale change initiatives, as well as enabling change management capability uplift within business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Change Delivery, you will develop a robust understanding of the business outcomes to be delivered by discrete organisational change initiatives. Applying the Agency’s change management framework and your knowledge of change management levers, you will define and implement fit for purpose, people centric change management strategies and plans to support change adoption and the delivery of target business outcomes.

This key role will see you analyse change impacts, stakeholders and assess change readiness. You will involve impacted stakeholders in the change process, activating change networks and enabling sponsors and leaders to visibly advocate for, and reinforce change. Defining key messages and delivering communication plans, designing and facilitating transition processes, operationalising support models and building learning solutions will help establish change readiness. Tracking change metrics, partnering with the business to embed the change, and proactively working with your peers in the Change team to make change as frictionless for the business will be crucial to your success in this role.

As the lead change advisor to specific business units, you will coach and collaborate on smaller and emergent change initiatives, enhance decision-making and enable leaders to land local change successfully. As a member of the Change Management team within OE, this role will also help implement processes, tools, and techniques to support all Agency people to lead and navigate change successfully, and to assess and manage Agency change loads.

About You

Candidates should have a tertiary qualification in business, human resources, change management, organisational psychology, or a related field, and training in recognised methodologies such as PCI, Prosci or Lean change. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience leading change management initiatives for complex projects, with a strong understanding of change management principles, tools, and approaches.

Experience in advisory roles providing strategic change advice, developing and delivering change management strategies and plans, and working closely with peers in adjacent functions (e.g. employee communications and project services) to deliver outcomes is essential. Familiarity with project governance and delivery frameworks, and experience in government, finance, or investment sectors is preferred.
The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of organisational behaviour and culture, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and explain complex concepts in simple and engaging terms. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple interdependent projects are crucial.

We value a pragmatic, collaborative self-starter who embraces a growth mindset, explores innovative change solutions, and builds strong relationships with stakeholders. Resilience, tenacity, and comfort with complexity and ambiguity are essential attributes for thriving in this role.

We Are For Everyone

At Future Fund, we are better for our differences. Every person, every skillset, every mindset is an asset. We want everyone to feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves to work. Which is why we’re looking for future minds like yours. Your past experiences help us expand our collective knowledge, add value and create something better. When doing your job means Australia has more money to invest in renewables, education, healthcare and medical breakthroughs – there’s a tangible impact to what we do. And we want you to be part of it.
