Our Mungari Gold Operations are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.
Last year we announced our expansion project, a $250m investment to expand our processing mill. This investment will extend Mungari’s mine life to 15 years and double annual production to over 200,000 ounces per year post commissioning. It is an exciting time to join the Mungari Operations

About the role
Due to an internal promotion we are now looking to appoint another Metallurgist to join the team.
The role is only offered residentially (you must be prepared to live in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder region), working a 5:2:4:3 roster (10 hour, day shift only). Relocation support will be offered to those willing to relocate permanently to Kalgoorlie.
The Metallurgist reports directly to the Senior Metallurgist and provides technical support to assist the production team to achieve the budgeted gold output. Key Deliverables are;
- Ensuring key plant operating parameters remain within target and that consumption of process consumables stays within budget.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Conducting metallurgical test work and trials aimed at improving efficiencies and/or costs.
- Maintaining competence in all laboratory procedures to cover lab duties if required.
- Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
About you
As the Metallurgist you will hold a tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Minerals Processing and have proven experience in the following areas;
- 2+ years’ experience in gold extraction (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated continuous improvement and strong project management skills
- Ability to prioritise and schedule work, whilst coping with pressures and setbacks
- Ability to work autonomously and safely in a remote environment.
- Skills in analysing and interpreting data, applying expertise and technology, following instructions and procedures, and adapting to change.
- Competent user of MS Word, Excel and Pronto.
